DotBuddy is made for kids and the grown-ups who care about them. We built it to be private by design. This policy explains, in plain language, what that means.
DotBuddy does not collect any personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and no third parties receiving information about you or your child. Everything your child makes stays on their device.
Nothing. DotBuddy has no login, asks for no name or email, and sends no usage data to us or anyone else. Your child's drawings, riddles, stars, and progress are saved only on the device and are never uploaded.
DotBuddy does not currently use the camera or photo library. If a future version adds a photo-to-pixel-art feature, any image processing will happen entirely on the device, the image will never leave the device or be sent to us, and access will be requested only when you choose to use the feature.
When your child shares a riddle, DotBuddy turns it into a share code or QR image that contains only the pixel art, the riddle text, and an optional first name that your child chooses to include. There is no server and nothing is posted publicly — the code travels directly to whoever your child gives it to.
DotBuddy offers optional one-time purchases (riddle packs, an all-packs bundle, and Pro Studio). Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Purchases are placed behind a grown-ups-only check.
DotBuddy is designed to be safe for children. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your region). Our practices are intended to align with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the "children's data" provisions of the EU/UK GDPR.
If a grown-up turns on reminders, DotBuddy schedules gentle local notifications on the device (for example, when the Daily Riddle is ready). These are created and delivered locally by the device — no notification data is sent to us.
If we ever change how DotBuddy handles data, we will update this page and change the date above. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
